Economy
The industrial park of Rétság aimed to give place primarily to investments involved in production, using environment friendly logistic systems, and creating job opportunities. The park offers the full scale of public utilities, it has electric network, IT-networks, water network, sewer system and gas network as well. It also offers an internal road system connected directly to the international Route 2. Scheduled public transport services are available at the industrial park, so the transport of the employees for every shift is accessible. The newcomers can use a wide range of related services.
Education
The town has a kindergarten, a primary school, it is home to the Mikszáth Kálmán High School, Secondary School and Vocational School, and the Rétság department of the Rózsavölgyi Márk Art School.
Culture
Besides the Town Culture Center and Library and the exhibition of regional history, there are several cultural programs offered by the surrounding villages. One of the most popular events of the region is the Bánkitó Festival.
Sport
Pusztaszántó, which is a part of Rétság, is a citadel of the equestrian sport of Nógrád county, and its fishing lakes welcome the lovers of fishing.
